Reviews for Ahead of Her Time in Yesteryear: Geraldyne Pierce Zimmerman Comes of Age in a Southern African American Family
“Ms. Zimmerman retained the best aspects of her upbringing (temperance, selfsacrifice, perseverance, self-assurance, love of education, and service) with more progressive ideas. This makes her life a fascinating example of how at times the ‘best and brightest’ of the black community actually are the best and brightest.” —Hayward Farrar, Virginia Tech
