Scott Miles decided to get a TESOL certificate on the advice of a friend who had taught overseas while working on his undergraduate degree in English Literature. Read morecertificate, Scott went to Suwon, Korea for a year and taught in a private institution. It was there that he knew this was the profession he wanted to pursue. After returning to his hometown (Salt Lake City, Utah) he earned a Master's Degree in TESOL while teaching ESL night classes in a community college. The students were adult immigrants from all around the world and they were simply fantastic. Once again, Korea was his destination upon graduation and he was hired as a visiting professor in Sogang University in Seoul Korea, where he had been teaching for the last 6 years. He began working on supplementary materials that were published by his university press and this played a part in bringing Scott to Macmillan. Currently, Scott is writing books for Macmillan and this has been a convenient excuse for him to delay completing his PhD dissertation in language acquisition at Lancaster University. Show Less
