Bruce Allen Elleman received his B.A. degree from UC Berkeley in 1982, M.A. and Harriman Institute Certificate at Columbia University in 1984, followed by the M.Phil. in 1987, East Asian Certificate in 1988, and Ph.D. in 1993. In addition, he completed the M.Sc. in International History at the London School of Economics in 1985, and the Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies (with Distinction) at the U.S. Naval War College in 2004.
