The book is a wonderful hybrid, both a collection of essays and a catalog of projects by artists engaged in contemporary land use. Unlike landscape architecture, land use-according to the book's editors-more directly engages the relationship between environmental and economic structures, not to mention demands for spatial and environmental justice.
