Reviews for The Best of Grade 1 Piano
Every teacher and pupil have favourite pieces in their yearly programmes and Anthony Williams has certainly made excellent choices in these new compilations from old, forgotten examination syllabuses. There are five separate volumes, one for each grade, with twenty of the old favourites in each of grades 1, 2 and 3. These pieces usually disappear into oblivion once out of date, with new generations of pupils unable to experience the thrills and delights of ten years worth of fun repertoire. Now, they are able to relive many old favourites as well as forgotten gems in their early days of piano lessons. Although selected by grades, the entire collection would make excellent sight reading material for more advanced players. Piano Professional, Summer 2008 All these pieces are tried and tested favourites of exam-takers, so whatever your tastes you're statistically bound to find a motivating choice. These volumes can be strongly recommended as repertoire books. Pianist Magazine, May 2008
