About Tuulikki Pietilä
Tuulikki Pietilä is Lecturer in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Helsinki, Finland. She is the author of the award-winning monograph Gossip, Markets, and Gender: How Dialogue Constructs Moral Value in Post-Socialist Kilimanjaro (2007). She has also published a number of articles on the world music industry and South African youth music.
