Description for Safari: A Photicular Book Hardcover. Why just read about the way a cheetah can run up to 60mph when you can actually watch him running, too? Featuring eight animals (cheetah, rhino, elephant, giraffe, gazelle, zebra, gorilla, and lion), this title provides the information you'd expect to hear from a real safari tour guide about each animal. Num Pages: 29 pages, 8 "photicular" images. BIC Classification: 1H; YBG; YNNR. Category: (G) General (US: Trade). Dimension: 209 x 213 x 53. Weight in Grams: 874.
Imagine a field guide to all the animals you'd encounter on an African safari, but instead of looking at a photograph of them in the book you're reading, you're actually seeing a small film clip on the page of the animal in motion. It's a PhoticularTM Book - a lenticular-based technology that transfers fluid 4-color movies onto a book page. Why just read about the way a cheetah can run up to 60mph when you can actually watch him running, too? It's like having a coffee table book come to life in your hands. Featuring eight gorgeous animals (cheetah, rhino, elephant, giraffe, gazelle, zebra, gorilla, and lion), Safari: A PhoticularTM Book is full of the information you'd expect to hear from a real safari tour guide about each animal - plus an evocative first-person essay about the safari experience by nature writer and safari traveller, Carol Kaufmann. This spectacular book of motion pictures will leave you breathless.

About Dan Kainen
Dan Kainen is an artist, designer, and inventor living in New York City. He is the creator of the bestselling Photicular books Safari, Ocean, Polar, Jungle, and Wild. His website is DanKainen.com.While working with some of the pioneers of holography, Dan created a special spotlight that was used by Soho's Museum of Holography to light holograms. Carol Kaufmann is the author of 97 Ways to Make a Cat Like You and co-author of the bestselling Photicular books Safari, Ocean, and Polar (Oct. 2015). A freelance writer and editor, her work for National Geographic and other publications has taken her to all corners of the globe, from the Pacific Ocean's floor to the top the Atlas Mountains. In addition to National Geographic, her writing has appeared in the New York Times' Draft column, Reader's Digest, where she was the National Affairs Reporter, The Washington Post, George, and in the anthology A Woman's Europe. She is also the author of the ebook, MamaTricks. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia.
