About Joy Butler
Joy I. Butler, EdD, is the co-ordinator of undergraduate studies and physical-education teacher education (PETE) graduate and undergraduate programmes in the Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of British Columbia. She is also active in the international scholarship, organisation and advocacy for Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU). Linda L. Griffin, PhD, received her doctorate in physical-education teacher education from Ohio State University. As a physical educator and coach since 1976, Dr. Griffin has conducted extensive research, published nearly 50 articles and book chapters and given numerous presentations on the tactical approach.
