About Gertrude Stein
Frank Galati is a playwright, director, and actor. His screenplay for The Accidental Tourist was nominated for an Academy Award and in 1990 he received two Tony Awards for his adaptation and direction of The Grapes of Wrath. Galati is an ensemble member at Steppenwolf Theatre and also teaches at Northwestern University.
Reviews for Loving Repeating: A Musical
Galati's adaptation of various Stein texts, along with a moving account of Stein's last days written by Toklas, deals with Stein as writer, thinker, and lover in gently impressionistic fashion. The results are user-friendly in the extreme and quite charming. -Chicago Tribune
