Ruth Gilligan was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and graduated with a first in English from Cambridge University in 2009. Her first novel Forget topped the bestseller charts in 2006 in Ireland, while her second Somewhere In Between, also enjoyed great success on the bestseller's list, leading her to be hailed as 'Ireland's newest publishing sensation'. She starred in the Irish soap opera Fair City for a number of years, and regularly contribures to the Sunday Times Style Magazine and The Irish Independent. She is studying for her masters degree in Yale.
