This was a really unique missing child story and I was engrossed from beginning to end. I was surprised at how quickly I read this book. I was determined to figure out who did what and why but had no luck in figuring it out and was surprised at what really happened (...)this was a really well written debut novel. A gripping and well-paced psychological thriller. And I was really shocked at the ending. Wow...what an epilogue (...)I really did enjoy this novel and I look forward to more from Deborah O'Connor

When the truth, and its aftermath are revealed, readers will be left gasping. I admit, I had to go back and reread one section, because I couldn't quite believe it. This was an ending I never saw coming!

The plot is dark, captivating, and full of multiple twists that took me on an emotional roller-coaster ride, through moral and ethical dilemmas, until an extremely unusual end that I just didn't see coming. It is a slow burning story with an insidious undercurrent, that got under my skin and stayed there. The book is well paced with many secret side plots that kept me thinking and guessing but, to me, the best thing about it was the moral dilemmas that it threw up and which I am still thinking about a few days after I have finished it
