About Major D J Thorp
D.J. THORPE enlisted in the army as an apprentice tradesman in 1955, transferring from the Royal Corps of Signals to the Intelligence Corps in 1960. He and his specialist trials and quick reaction intelligence and communications unit were sent to the Falklands in 1982. He retired as a major in 1988. He lives in Cheltenham.
