Hardcover. Large 8vo . Good clean copy ..An imprint of George Macy Companies, Ltd., Heritage Press was founded in 1935. The Press printed more affordable classic volumes that were previously published by Macy’s Limited Editions Club and covered a broad range of topics primarily within the Western canon. In addition to Macy, directors of the Heritage Press included Cedric Crowell, General Manager of the Doubleday Bookshops; Frank L. Magel, head of Putnam Bookstores in New York; and A. Koch, head of Brentano Stores in New York. Though many of Macy’s other imprints, including The Heritage Club, The Heritage Illustrated Bookshelf, and The Junior Heritage Club, were sold by subscription only, Heritage Press editions were sold through bookstores. Macy combined his publishing enterprises in 1944, though each imprint maintained its specific target audience. The archives of the George Macy Companies, including both the Limited Editions Club and The Heritage Press, were purchased by the Ransom Center in 1970.

Paperback. "Bog/Paperback 126 lch. Bíodh is go mbaineann seantéamaí leis an úrscéal seo, an imirce, údarás na hEaglaise, an bhochtaineacht agus mar sin de, níl aon rud seanaimseartha faoin insint. Set in an Irish-speaking part of the West, an area of squinting windows beaten by poverty and emigration, the author writes in a natural, convincing style: ‘Cnag ar an doras. Bhí Colm ina shuí ar an leaba ag léamh páipéar an tráthnóna. Léim sé ina sheasamh agus chuaigh anonn chuig an doras. Fear óg cumasach a bhí ar a aghaidh amach. Meangadh lách air . . .’"

Paperback. 120pp. Ceithre bliana ó shin a chuir Salmon Poetry an cnuasach Homage le Micheál Ó Fionnáin faoi bhráid an phobail. Ba léir gur cnuasach turgnamhach leathan ghabhálach neamhghnáthach é inar scrúdaíodh agus inar beachtaíodh mórán de na téamaí móra. Bheartaigh Aogán Ó Muircheartaigh athleagan a sholáthair i nGaeilge de roinnt de dhánta an chnuasaigh úd agus na hathleaganacha san a bhronnadh ar an bhFionnánach. Ní túisce a thug sé faoi sin ná gur rug an saothar greim air a shamhlaíocht agus níor stad sé go raibh an chuid is mó de mhíreanna Homage curtha i nGaeilge aige. Is é an leabhar seo Ómós Mhichíl toradh na hoibre sin. This is a new version of 'Ómós Mhichíl' which was first published four years ago

Hardcover. 8vo. Original cloth . Irish Literature. Donn Byrne at Coolmain Castle Donn Byrne was born Brian Oswald Patrick Donn-Byrne on 20 November 1889. His South Armagh parents were on a business trip to the United States when Donn Byrne was born in New York. The family returned to Ireland soon after the birth. Byrne says of his family: "We were about the only one of the four big Irish families of the gap in the North to still keep our mouths, if not our heads, above water." At fourteen, he met Bulmer Hobson, founder of Irish volunteer movement. Hobson took him to an early meeting of the volunteers (1906), when he was accompanied by Robert Lynd of the London Daily News. Lynd wrote of that meeting, mentioning the singing of a little fair haired boy (Donn-Byrne). Through Hobson, he acquired a taste for Irish history and nationalism that the culture was deeply immersed in at the time. He entered local Irish festivals (Feiseanna) using the name Brian O'Beirne, and he frequently won. He was equally fluent in Irish and English, growing up in an area were Gaelic was still spoken. In 1907 he went to the University of Dublin to study Romance languages. While at the school he published in The National Student, the student magazine. At this time he also met Dorothea (Dolly) Cadogan. After graduation he moved to Paris and Leipzig to continue his studies at the Sorbonne and Leipzig University, with the hope of joining the British Foreign Office as a diplomat. He turned down his PhD. when he learned that he would have to wear evening clothes to his early morning examinations, which no true Irish gentleman would ever do.
