Michael Day completed his doctorate degree at Stanford University and has taught middle and high-school art in California. Dr. Day served as President of the NAEA from 1997 to 1999. Al Hurwitz has taught at the elementary and secondary levels in Miami-Dade County, Florida. He was the Director of Visual and Performing Arts for Newton, Massachusetts schools and taught art education at Harvard University Graduate School of Education Ohio State University, Teacher's College, Columbia University, Brandeis University, and the Massachusetts College of Art. He has written, co-authored, or edited 12 books on art education and served on the United States Society for Education through Art (USSEA).
