Every teacher, no matter how many years of experience or what grade they teach, can use the comprehension, vocabulary, and study skill strategies from this book. It’s easy to use, effective, and fun for students and teachers!  With the influx of technology, today’s students need multi-sensory activities to keep them focused and engaged.  This book has a mirage of literacy activities to make learning difficult material enjoyable!  It is similar to Judy’s first book I Don’t Get It! Helping Students Understand What They Read except it explains how to make technological adaptations for each lesson and gives suggestions related to differentiation.  Both of these books have lead my students to find success and enjoyment in reading again!
Kaley Poegel, Elementary Teacher, Minnesota Judy's resource book is a follow up which will be dog-eared by educators, parents, and students.  To improve reading and literacy skills, they will frequently revisit the book's contents.  Her book nails it by giving easy to implement strategies geared for real classrooms and real students.  It is a teaching tool with the vision and hope needed to facilitate reading success.
Pat Mithelavage, retired elementary and middle school principal Helping teachers find new resources and effective instructional strategies is one of the components of being a strong instructional leader.  This book, which is written in an easy to use format, provides teachers with some of those resources needed to help them give students the opportunity to improve their reading skills.  Teachers will also find additional strategies which will help them incorporate technology into those lesson plans.  It is important that students are exposed to strategies which help them with their reading skills as they prepare to take their local and state assessments.
Scott Antle, president of the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals, principal of East Buchanan High School in Gower, Missouri Informative and inspiring, Brunner delivers new and promising ways to attain student success with reading and literacy deficits.   This is a quick read book, filled with hands-on, user friendly strategies any educator will find to be a useful tool.  It captures the struggles students face in attaining reading success and then provides easy to implement solutions for teacher utilization. An effective follow up to her first book, I Don't Get It! Helping Students Understand What They Read.
Dr. Kara Swofford, former elementary teacher and principal and currently a professor of education at College of the Ozarks
