He was the New Testament chair of the English Standard Version translation of the Bible, and is serving on the NIV translation committee. Dr. Robert H. Mounce, president emeritus of Whitworth College, is the author of a number of well-known biblical commentaries, including the volume on Revelation in the NICNT. Dr. David Hubbard, former president of Fuller Theological Seminary, refers to him as "one of our generation's most able expositors." He was involved in the translation of the NIV, NLT, NIrV, and especially the ESV.
