The patterns are in written format but charts are also provided for repeating patterns. There are 35 designs to choose from so there is something for everyone. There are fun and flamboyant patterns as well as basic mitten designs. The back of the book is packed full of stitch & techniques. The guide takes you through everything you need to know to make each of the projects. There are clear instructions as well as step-by-step pictures. I can't wait to get making a few different ones for myself and also have a few in mind for friends and family. I love the fact that every mitt is unique to the other. There are so many amazing designs.
