Gary R. Dentino, Superintendent, Waterford Township (NJ) Schools Joe Batory is a magnificent writer. The tragedy is that as an author he remains one of America's best kept secrets. His work should be required reading in graduate schools of education.....
Dr. Matthew Costanzo, Former Superintendent of Schools, The School District of Philadelphia The superintendency is not a walk in the park. Like soldiers returning from combat, some superintendents never reveal what it was like to walk in those hallowed wing tips...Yo! Joey! gives us a glimpse into a world that ranges from unleashing the potential of students and staff to dealing with threats. And he does it with a combination of seriousness and a sense of humor. This book both raises eyebrows and provides insights into one of America's most challenging and important leadership positions…the school superintendency.
Gary Marx, president, Center for Public Outreach; author, “Twenty-One Trends for the 21st Century” Joe Batory is a magnificent writer. The tragedy is that as an author he remains one of America's best kept secrets. His work should be required reading in graduate schools of education.
Dr. Matthew Costanzo, Former Superintendent of Schools, The School District of Philadelphia ...belong[s] in every library serving school personnel and those preparing for school administration as well as the personal libraries of superintendents. The 'Summaries of Messages' might well end up on the walls of superintendents all over the country where they should be frequently read.
