About Prisse D´avennes
Emile Prisse d’Avennes (1807–79), a colossal figure in Egyptian studies, is also the author of Atlas of Egyptian Art (AUC Press, 1997), the Oriental Album, as well as dozens of articles and reports on a variety of subjects. George T. Scanlon (1926–2014) was professor of Islamic art and architecture at the American University in Cairo.
