John Wintrip qualified as an information professional and spent thirty years working as a science librarian, mainly in university libraries. After early retirement he started a new career as a professional genealogist. You might have to do a bit more leg-work to explore pre-Victorian records but there's a lot of information to be found if you know how to search - and this book should help you to do just that.
