This contribution to Political Anthropology, Migration Research, and Postcolonial Studies fills a gap in the hitherto under-represented scholarship on the settler society of the Andaman Islands, called Mini-India. Reviews for Mini-India: The Politics of Migration and Subalternity in the Andaman Islands
The book thus presents compelling ideas of subaltern marginalisation and agency and their links to migration, relations of production, and politics. Subaltern resilience is a theme introduced in this journey to the islands. The entangled histories and practices of the settlers in the Andamans is fascinating for uncovering subaltern agency, resistance and complicity.
