Fred Gravestock, Director of Care and Learning, New Horizons Having just been allocated the case of what might be considered an example of one of the subject children of this book, I found reviewing it particularly interesting and relevant. The editors have gathered together a number of respected academics from various disciplines. The focus is the risk management of, and successful intervention for, children in public care who have, or are at risk of, committing serious interpersonal violence... What particularly appealed was the international comparison, with chapters looking at the Netherlands, Germany and Greece. Hagell points out that despite the cultural differences between countries there remain a lot of similarities, including the characteristics of the children, the various options tried with them, and the best approaches available... This is a welcome book, and one which deserves to be read by everyone working with and around children who commit serious violence.
