On May 17, 2010, four undocumented students occupied the Arizona office of Senator John McCain. Walter J. Nicholls earned his Ph.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles, and is now Assistant Professor of Sociology and the University of Amsterdam. He is the coeditor of Spaces of Contention: Places, Scales, and Networks of Social Movements (2013).
