Eccentric Nation examines four performance events in nineteenth-century New York City in which Irish cultural nationalism was constructed and reinforced by musicians, actors, playwrights, speakers, parades, and athletes, and disseminated among diverse crowds that included both Irish and Anglo-Americans.
