John Quincy Adams was the sixth President of the United States. He held office during the years 1825-1829. Charles Francis Adams, the son of John Quincy Adams, was a politician and diplomat. He was US Ambassador to Britain under Abraham Lincoln during the years of the American Civil War. He became one of the outstanding historical editors of his era. William J. Cooper, Jr is Boyd Professor Emeritus of History of Louisiana State University, USA. His recent books include The Lost Founding Father: John Quincy Adams and the Transformation of American Politics (2017).
