Erol Yilmaz is a Mining Engineer graduated from the University of Istanbul, Turkey. His expertise covers paste integrated solutions, mine backfill implementation and sulphidic tailings management. Dr. Mamadou Fall is a Full Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Ottawa (Canada) and the Director of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Environmental Engineering. He obtained his PhD degree in Geotechnical Engineering from the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology in Germany. He was the Coordinator of the German Research Chair of Environmental Geosciences and Geotechnics. At the University of Ottawa, Dr. Fall has been leading several projects on mine waste management and mine backfill. He has over 15 years’ experience on fundamental and applied research on mining geotechnics, mine waste management and mine backfills. Dr. Fall has over 150 publications to his credit.
