Read morethe realization of a hydrogen society. His research interests are: strength of materials; metal fatigue; fracture mechanics; hydrogen embrittlement; stress analysis; and tribology. He has published 13 books and over 400 papers. He has been a Director of the Research Center for Hydrogen Industrial Use and Storage (HYDROGENIUS), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology since July 2006. He is currently the Special advisor to Director of International institute for Carbon-Neutral Energy Research (I2CNER), Kyushu University.
